5 You will find my home full of love and energy. I have been married to my husband, Dan Garrison, for 5 years. We got married on July 4, 2015, in St. Lucia. I have no children of my own, but share 4 grandchildren with my husband.
We have 3 pets. They include our dog, Lucy; out other dog, Ethel, and our cat, Zephy. Lucy is a short haired miniature dachshund. Ethel is a bulldog. I am an animal lover and enjoy petting, playing with, and snuggling with our animals.
My extended family includes my father, Jim; my mother, Ginny; my younger sister, Julie; her son, Wheeler; her daughter, Elsie; and my brother-in-law, Doug. I enjoy spending time with my family. They are important to me.

Educational Background
After achieving a Bachelor's degree as an Occupational Therapist and working in a hospital for about 8 years, I returned to college and became certified to teach elementary school and middle school science. I student taught in 3rd grade in Lee's Summit, followed by beginning to teach fifth grade in August, 2003, at Shull Intermediate School. I have since completed my Masters Degree in Education and my Specialist Degree in Reading Education. I continued to teach fifth grade at Bridle Ridge Intermediate School through 2015. I made a change to fourth grade the 2015-2016 school year, meaning a return to Shull Elementary School. I taught fourth grade for two years at Shull. In 2017-2018 I transitioned to the role of the reading interventionist for grades k-5. I love the challenge this position brings. It is so rewarding to watch each kid grow as a reader.
